   As far as I’m concerned solar panels are made of monocrystalline silicon. Most commercially available solar cells are capable of producing electricity for at least twenty years without a significant decrease in efficiency.

    Several thousand dollars for all those things bijaya999, that’s way more than 45 watts, thus introducing higher cost regulators and batteries as well.

    It’s not practical, You’d need to cover most of your property just to operate all the mentioned items on a sunny day.

    5000 euros to power an LCD TV. That’s nearly $10k and needs batteries with toxins that get replaced often.

    It isn’t more enviro friendly, or cost effective than coal unless put on top of already existing structures.

    Yeah, I second the request for the lifespan of these panels. I’m suspicious that chemicals in them will become less effective over time.

    Thats pretty cool. Excellent videos Dan! I have 4 solar panels that give me 30 amps peak and deep cycle solar batteries. a 2000 watt inverter. I can run anything from the cloths washer to the LCD TV. Im currently designing the solar seeker to get the panels to chase the sun. As soon as I get that done I will be able to charge the batteries in order to have a good 3 to 4 day charge with absolutely no sun. This stuff is the future, folks. About 5000 euros investment and say by by to the grid.

    I have 12 of these …
    I have 12 of these panel’s on my roof with 3 — 115 amp hr deep cycle batteries and this is a pretty good start. I am running a 1200 watt inverter but have installed a reostat on the cooling motors due to the excessive power they pull. With the inverter cooling fans turned off the inverter is large enough that it stays cool. I run my big screen tv,sat system,fans,lights,DVD,etc But need more battery storage, Good starter system or for emergency use.

    i have these as well, ive been running my eee laptop on solar power during the day with this setup i am using a regular car battery which is not very good but it was free until i get aroud to the deep cycle batteries, its a decent starter system
